No wonder the Democratic Party Establishment is angry with Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and leftist activist Prof. Cornel West.

To understand why the fury, here’s a headline from Newsmax: https://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/poll-rfk-jr-joe-biden/2023/11/02/id/1140700/

Quinnipiac Poll: RFK Jr. Pulls 22 Percent in Biden, Trump Race

Newsmax reports:

“Independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. pulls in 22% of votes in a hypothetical 2024 general election matchup against incumbent President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump, according to the latest Quinnipiac poll.

According to the survey results of registered voters released Wednesday, Biden receives 39% to Trump’s 36% in the three-way hypothetical. Kennedy, the subject of this month’s cover story in Newsmax Magazine, would seem to siphon off more votes from Trump than Biden; the incumbent leads Trump by just one point in a hypothetical head-to-head matchup — 47% to 46%, according to the poll.

In the three-way matchup, RFK Jr. earns the most support from independents, with 36%. Trump is next with 31% and 30% back Biden, according to the survey.”

Which is to say, things are closer than Dems would expect with just RFK Jr. in the race. But add Cornel West into the mix? The story goes on to say:

“When progressive activist Cornel West is added into the mix as a four-way hypothetical matchup, the results are as follows:

  • Biden: 36%
  • Trump: 35%
  • RFK Jr.: 19%
  • West: 6%

In other words Joe Biden is scarcely ahead of Trump. As the saying goes, his lead is well within the margin of error. And with RFK Jr. all by himself scoring, depending, either 22% or 19% Kennedy most definitely can do serious – perhaps fatal – damage to the Biden candidacy. And that’s before one counts the damage Biden himself is capable of self-inflicting with inflation, gas prices and, to top it all off, war in Israel.

The hard fact for Democrats here is that Biden is anything but a certain winner. LBJ, Bill Clinton or Barack Obama he ain’t.

There’s just less than two months to go before 2024 begins in earnest. Suffice to say Democrats have a lot of work to do for Joe Biden.
