Stunned by the unprecedented assault on its territory, a grieving Israel has counted over 700 dead and launched a withering barrage of strikes on Gaza that have raised the death toll there to 493 according to Palestinian officials. Napolitano to Newsmax: Hamas Might Be Using US-made Weapons

You read that right. Hamas may be getting their hands on American weapons. The story says this:

“‘It would not be surprising to learn that some of the weapons used by Hamas to attack Israel came from the United States intended for use in Ukraine, as there are “no inspectors general on the ground’ there to track where the weapons are going, retired Judge Andrew Napolitano said on Newsmax, Tuesday.

‘When the United States decided to send all the billions to Ukraine, Sen. Rand Paul and Congressman Thomas Massey each offered legislation that would have imposed restrictions on the resale of the equipment and would have interposed an inspector general on the ground in Ukraine to minimize corruption and to make sure that the military equipment was going to the military,’ Napolitano said on Newsmax’s “Wake Up America.”

However, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and then-House Speaker Kevin McCarthy ‘were in such a rush to get legislation passed that they wouldn’t bring either of those proposals to the floor for a vote,’ Napolitano said.

As a result, there are no restrictions on the resale of the equipment and ‘no inspectors general on the ground in Ukraine, the most corrupt country in the West,’ Napolitano said.

He stressed, though, that such reports are ‘all anecdotal.’

‘We’re hearing this because the conflagration in Israel and Gaza is so intense, no one’s taking time to examine the equipment,’ Napolitano said. ‘But it seems more likely than not from sources to whom I am speaking, some public and some directly to me, that this equipment that Gaza is using was manufactured in the United States.’”

Over in The Western Journal there is a similar story, this one involving not Ukraine but Afghanistan. https://www.westernjournal.com/us-weapons-left-behind-afghanistan-may-among-deadly-tools-hamas-used-civilians/

US Weapons Left Behind in Afghanistan May Have Been Among Deadly Tools Hamas Used on Civilians

This jewel of a story reports:

“If freeing up $6 billion of Iranian money, making it easier for them to divert other funds to terrorist organizations, wasn’t enough, it appears the Biden administration’s disastrous foreign policy decisions may be supplementing ammunition to terrorists like Hamas as well.

According to Newsweek, a high-ranking official in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) expressed Israel’s concerns to the outlet about weapons from the U.S. and other Western nations provided to Ukraine ending up in the hands of Israel’s enemies, particularly the Javelin shoulder-fired anti-tank missile system.

Even more shameful, The Israeli commander told Newsweek that U.S. small arms seized in Afghanistan have been observed being used by Palestinian groups in the Gaza Strip.

In January, NBC reported that weapons left behind in Afghanistan during Biden’s disastrous withdrawal from the nation have been used to arm militants in Kashmir, India, in what NBC said experts call ‘just the start of the weapons’ global journey.’”

If there is one thing anyone paying attention to foreign affairs should have learned it is that events are not unconnected. In one way or another one event can easily have an effect on another. And leaving behind weapons in that disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan was a sure-fire guarantee those weapons would wind up in some bad guy hands. That those bad guys now appear to be terrorists in Hamas doesn’t shock in the least.

And the real possibility of this should have been plainly obvious to the Biden administration.

It wasn’t. Which speaks volumes.
