Another primary challenge for David Scott

And the 2026 elections are beginning.

Insider Advantage’s James Magazine Online headlines this of Georgia Democrat Congressman David Scott:

The general public that doesn’t live for politics daily goes about its day-to-day life paying politics little or no attention until election day draws near. After all, there are jobs to attend to, kids to get to school and household chores to attend to.

But for those involved up to their necks in the political world, the “next election” clock starts ticking the moment the last election’s ballots are counted.

A case in point is the skirmishing already begun in Atlanta’s 2026 Democratic Party.

The short write-up in the ever watchful James Magazine reports:

U.S. Rep. David Scott, D-Atlanta, is no stranger to fending off primary challenges.  But with concerns mounting over his age and fitness, he could be facing his stiffest test yet when he runs for re-election in 2026.  State Sen. Emanuel Jones, D-Decatur, offers a formidable challenge to Scott, who was recently removed from his spot at the head of the powerful Agriculture Committee.  Jones says he won’t be scared to go after Scott, calling for the need for a “louder voice” representing the 13th District.  A formidable primary challenge has Scott’s grasp on his Congressional seat DRIFTING…

Which is to say, for activist Democrats in Atlanta’s 13th congressional district, the jostling and maneuvering for 2026 has begun.
