So New York Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, fellow New York Democrat Rep. Jerry Adler and others brought their left-wing bubble home to the Big Apple to stand up for all the illegal immigrants seeking the city’s much ballyhooed “sanctuary” status. The city has stashed them at, among other places, the Roosevelt Hotel. AOC proudly noted of her accompanying Democrat colleagues: “We have geographic diversity here, including representatives from California, Texas, Illinois and New Jersey.”
It did not go well.

“Furious protestors screaming “close the border” heckled Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Jerry Nadler and other Democrats Friday as they were holding a press conference on the Big Apple’s escalating migrant crisis.
The New York pols were drowned out by the angry screams outside the Roosevelt Hotel mega shelter in Midtown Friday morning.
“Send them back,” one man shouted.
At one point, a security guard grabbed a yelling male protestor and shoved him behind a barricade.”
In other words? The Open Border Democrats were confronted by their own constituents screaming their opposition to the left-wing Open Border facts of life that have left the Big Apple

“In a sharp escalation over the migrant crisis, Mayor Eric Adams claimed in stark terms that New York City was being destroyed by an influx of 110,000 asylum seekers from the southern border and said that he did not see a way to fix the issue.
“Let me tell you something New Yorkers, never in my life have I had a problem that I did not see an ending to — I don’t see an ending to this,” the mayor said on Wednesday night in his opening remarks at a town hall-style gathering in Manhattan. “This issue will destroy New York City.”
Mr. Adams, a Democrat in his second year in office, has clashed with leading members of his party as New York City has struggled to provide housing and services to the migrants. For months, Mr. Adams has criticized President Biden and Gov. Kathy Hochul for failing to help the city handle the asylum seekers and pleaded for additional funding and expedited work permits.”
If nothing else it is interesting – amusing? – to see New York Democrats stand up for the Open Border policy their own Mayor now opposes – and find themselves shouted down by their own constituents who are forced to live every day with the problem.
Amazing.
